Not every T-shirt order is planned three weeks ahead. At our Putney Heath shop, we see a regular stream of customers who need custom tees printed the same day for events, stag dos, last-minute corporate runs, and campaign launches. Same-day T-shirt printing in London has become a common request and, thanks to DTG and DTF, it is now realistic for most designs.
Here are seven common reasons people book a same-day print.
1. A supplier let you down
You ordered 60 staff T-shirts from an online printer four weeks ago, and the delivery has slipped. The conference starts tomorrow morning. A local same-day printer can take your existing artwork file and have 60 tees ready by end of day, provided the artwork is print-ready.
We handle this situation every few weeks. Bring or email us the artwork by 10am and the order goes out that afternoon.
2. Stag party, hen do, or group event
Bachelor and hen parties rarely plan the T-shirts two weeks ahead. The order gets bumped down the list. Two days before the weekend, someone realises no one has sorted them.
We have produced dozens of stag T-shirts at 48 hours’ notice, usually in simple block colour designs on Gildan Heavy Cottons. Budget works out at £10 to £14 per shirt for 10 to 20 tees, including a simple design tweak.
3. Last-minute corporate event
Marketing teams ordering staff tees for a trade show, sponsorship activation, or press event often run late. Same-day printing on premium blanks (Stanley/Stella, Anthem) is possible up to 30 to 40 units if the design is single colour or simple.

4. Team kit with rush replacements
A football or rugby team needs replacement kit for an injured player or new signing. We can print names and numbers in vinyl same day. See our team kit printing guide for the full process.
5. Creative content for social or press
Influencers, photographers, and PR teams sometimes plan a shoot and realise the wardrobe is missing a key piece. A one-off or five-off custom print is achievable same day for DTG on cotton, at £15 to £30 per unit for small orders.
6. Brand pop-up or demo
If you are running a pop-up at a market, a street activation, or a demo stand, you might only finalise the branding the day before. Our same-day printing service covers T-shirts, simple flyers, and even small signboards in the same visit.
7. Personal gift or memorial
Birthdays, memorials, leaving gifts: these are the orders we take quietly but often. A photo or name transferred onto a T-shirt, hoodie, or mug, printed while you wait. For 1 to 5 units, turnaround is usually 2 to 4 hours.
How same-day actually works
Realistic constraints when you need something today:
- Cutoff time: arrive or email before 2pm for same-day collection
- Quantity: up to 40 T-shirts for simple DTG designs, up to 20 for DTF transfers
- Design: should be print-ready (high resolution, transparent background). If we need to redraw or adjust, same-day becomes next-day.
- Garment stock: we keep Gildan, Fruit of the Loom, and a selection of Stanley/Stella in common sizes. Specific premium blanks may need ordering in advance.
- Price: same-day does not carry a rush fee. Standard pricing applies.
What does not work same day
Be realistic:
- Full sublimation orders (2 to 3 day production)
- Large screen printing runs with new setup (needs mesh preparation)
- Complex embroidery for orders over 30 units
- Anything requiring a custom blank shipped in
For those, we quote realistic lead times and never promise a deadline we cannot meet.
