DTG Printing Prices (Direct to Garment)
DTG is best for cotton garments with photographic or full-colour designs. No setup fee, no minimum order.
| Quantity | Light garment | Dark garment |
|---|---|---|
| 1 to 5 | £12 per piece | £15 per piece |
| 5 to 25 | £9 per piece | £11 per piece |
| 25 to 50 | £7.50 per piece | £9 per piece |
| 50 to 100 | £7 per piece | £8.50 per piece |
| 100+ | £6.50 per piece | £8 per piece |
These are print-only prices on a standard chest-size design on a supplied blank. Larger print areas and premium blanks are quoted separately.
DTF Printing Prices (Direct to Film)
DTF is best for polyester, sportswear, and any fabric that DTG cannot print on. Transfers can also be supplied loose for pressing at home or on-site.
A small gang sheet (A4 film) with multiple logo-sized designs typically costs £8 to £12 depending on coverage. Individual chest-size transfers start from £4. Read our DTF printing London page for a full breakdown.
Screen Printing Prices
Screen printing becomes cost-effective from around 25 to 30 pieces. Below that threshold, screen setup cost per colour makes it uneconomical. At 50 pieces with a two-colour design, per-piece prices can fall to £5 to £6.
Vinyl Printing Prices
Cut vinyl is best for single-colour logos, names, and numbers. A front-chest vinyl print typically costs £5 to £8 depending on size.
Embroidery Prices
A single embroidered chest logo costs from £6 to £9 depending on stitch count. Best for polo shirts, workwear, and branded caps.
What Makes Printing More Expensive?
- Dark garments cost more for DTG due to the white underbase layer
- Large print areas use more ink or transfer film
- Premium blank garments (Stanley/Stella, AS Colour) are priced above standard blanks
- Printing Planet UK does not charge a same-day surcharge for DTG orders
How to Get the Best Value
The cheapest method depends on what you are printing:
- 1 to 10 cotton T-shirts with a complex design: DTG
- 1 to 10 polyester or mixed-fabric garments: DTF transfers
- 25 or more pieces with 1 to 3 solid colours: screen printing
- Sportswear names and numbers: vinyl
